About XTERRA

In 1996 mountain biking and triathlon met in a duel of the fittest on the island of Maui, Hawaii. The race was called Aquaterra. It consisted of an open-ocean swim, a mountain bike race, and a trail run. It represented a bold new racing format that attracted outdoor enthusiasts, mostly mountain bikers and triathletes. The mountain bikers brought their laid-back style and bold self-assurance. The triathletes brought their hard-core training and avid dedication. They soon discovered a common spirit and attitude that pulled them together. For as different as they are, neither could resist the challenges and thrills this new multisport offered.

What is XTERRA Compression Wear?

There are a few different technologies available in our Compression Clothing shop, but the basis behind them all is that muscles are designed to work in a linear fashion, up and down, left to right and so on. But, when we participate in sport, they move around a lot more through knocks and vibration, losing some energy in the process. Compression Wear keeps the muscle in its best position to ensure more of the energy the muscle expells is in the right direction.

Climate Control and Compression Wear

The other aspect which is common to most of our compression wear is that it helps to keep the body at its optimum temperature during sport, which again ensures your body and muscles are more comfortable and ready for the next challange. By keeping you dry, and keeping air flowing, your feel brighter and as a result, can give 100% start to finish.

The Heat Gear and Cold Gear ranges do this in winter and summer so you can wear your compression clothing all year round. An extra layer in summer doesn't quite sound right, but by quickly drying sweat and keeping the skin dry, Heat Gear actually helps you feel cooler as you work harder.
